In this section we created mood boards to pose as visual representations of the possible things our horror trailer may include. In order to create each mood board we used various Photoshop tools such as the masking tool and the brush tool in order to create the blending effect that is present in all of the mood boards.
The theme of our trailer is obsession and above are images showing obsession with looks. This idea links perfectly with the name of our movie which is Vanity. In order to achieve this blended look we created individual layer masks for each image, then colored the layer masks using black creating the blended look.

This mood board is made up of a collection of images that are of the gore type. This sub-genre involves a lot of blood and injuries such as the ones shown above. The injuries are usually inflicted on an individual by another person, in this Ed inflicts these injuries on both himself and his victims.

For the locations we have chosen a warehouse as the place where Ed mutilates and makes his victims beautiful. Warehouses often have tools which suits perfectly with his intentions. Additionally we chose to use a woods area due to the fact that the victims can run through it, portraying a common horror scene or it can be used as a setting to show how isolated the warehouse where Ed disfigures his victims is.
This mood board consists of the weapons Ed Morte may possibly use to injure his victims. They are mostly kitchen tools but due to the fact that there may be a warehouse, there's a possibility that there will be other weapons such as screw drivers, filers and so on.
In this mood board we put images of facial expressions we would expect to see the characters do. The male's in this have a more serious facial expression, this was chosen as our antagonist Ed Morte is serious and this allows him to appear as being more intimidating. Contrasting this, the female's facial expressions express fear through screaming, crying and widening of their eyes.
This mood board consists on images from the Hostel franchise. We chose this as a movie inspiration due to the use of torture within the movie. Additionally, in this movie they use a wide variety of weapons.

This is a mood board consisting of images from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. This movie poses as an inspiration for the our antagonist Ed Morte. We have chosen Leather Face from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre due to the fact that his face is morphed much like our own antagonist's face will be.

This is the complete overall mood board of our film Vanity. It is a mixture of all the images that are most suited for our film.
In this section we decided to create a detailed illustration of what our antagonist Ed Morte may look like after having disfigured his face. The software photoshop was used to produce the majority of the piece, along with the programme Paint Tool Sai.
This is an illustration of Ed Morte before he mutilated himself. Here, the idea of him having good looks is portrayed through various aspects of the illustration such as through his eyes and chilled nose.

In this illustration Ed Morte has now mutilated his own face. This sketch is an idea of the possible injuries he will suffer after going DIY with his facial surgery. To create this illustration there was some use of image referencing for areas such as the bruising around the eyes.
