How it DEVELOP'S Convention of Real ProductsIn developing convention of real products, we added one or few additional conventions that are not in most of the real media products, we have researched as a group. - Horror Sub Genre -As a group we chose too combine two different sub genre's, which are "Gore" and "Psychological". We chose this horror sub genres because it portrays the characteristic of our antagonist "Ed morte" . Although we combined psychological with Gore, our final products focuses more on gorrific content which is the main sub genre in our hybrid. |
Antagonist
In every gore horror sub genre, there would always be an antagonist who will disturb the peace of the protagonist or a group of family. as mentioned above, our antagonist/ villain is Ed morte.
Final Girl
In most horror genre, the role of the final girl is very crucial and important. The final girl in our horror trailer is Tracey who after torture from our villain escapes his evil hands. There are series of events that occur with the final girl and our antagonist which makes it a very fundamental characters according to the conventions of real media texts.
Location
The location is every important as has grown to be very iconic over time. Most scenes of horror films often take places in different abandoned buildings, streets, houses, alley ways and all other isolated parts. This creates a sense of loneliness and vulnerability to what ever is out there.
Props
Having the location, final girl and antagonist are all important but as part of the Misc en scene, the props used in horror are also very iconic and carried by each individual character. The different props such as knife, scissors connote the brutality of the characters which is highly essential in our sub genre which is gore .
