Graeme BurtonBurton suggests that each text in a given genre share key elements to make up the generic formula, which include:

Todorov's TheoryTodorov's Narrative theory include five stages of which are important to his theory:
1. Beginning( Equilibrium) : An initial state where every is all the way should be at the start. (normal day life). 2. Middle ( Disequilibrium): This is when the disruption of a normal day event occurs. usually seen as the protagonist setting in. 3. End- (Resolution): At this stage, the problem is said to be resolved, which allows the initial situation to re occur. |
Laura MurleyThis theory also known as the male gaze theory. This theory suggest that the male gaze denies women identity, regarding their appearance and physical look.
1. Particularly horror is largely masculine 2. The female body becomes and object for male viewing 3. faceless men, mask also known as antagonist 4. Scream queens: These are generally women who scream aimlessly. 5. Sexual objectification is a form of voyeurism. |
TRAILER CONTENT ANALYSIS
In this sector, each individual had to analyse a number of different trailers as part of completing or summer pack. It included how many shots were taken of the victims. sound techniques and so much more to improve our own trailer.

we had annotate them by writing in the boxes below to state what type of shot we intended to use, what camera angle, how many characters, what props were involved in that scene.
This stage was very important because, this was what made up our final horror pieces and gave a detailed account for our ideas.

FILM CRITS
As shown above, each individual of Chronicle Pictures critiqued different horror trailers. We sourced for various information such as the equilibrium, disequilibrium, resolution and so many important information that is needed whilst creating our own trailers.
SUMMER WORK
Oulayma's Summer work:
Oulayma produced a horror trailer "OYASUMI" which means good night in Japanese for her summer work. It involves being possessed by a doll and acting on what the doll tells you to do.
she also took pictures of different make up design that she was able to come up with during her summer project. |

Alpha's
Alpha also produced a horror trailer which he titled "Girl from the woods". The story is based on a girl who was lost in the middle of nowhere and she helps a young girl she did not know off. The theme is "Loneliness", as the young girl from the woods was on her own.
Haja's
For Haja's summer work, she designed a horror poster which she titled "Possessed". The title gives a brief explanation of what the theme is and its written i red, which connotes danger.
Simon's
For Simon's summer work, as shown above he created a magazine, poster and trailer of his horror research which he tiled "Butcher". From his magazine and poster, the protagonist is holding a dangerous weapon which connotes the power he possesses.
